Soft sleepers
(The first class compartment)

This train is completely concealed and air-tight
so that it can control(like airplane compartment) internal temperature,
humidity and air-pressure(especially with oxygen concentration).
Two sytems of Oxygen-supply: general compartment outlet and individual chair outlet.
With specially designed hermetic closure, trains on the Qinghai-Tibet Railway can guarantee smooth operation in an extremely cold and anoxic environment. They are equipped with a plateau oxygen supply system. Oxygen will be added to the entire cabin and oxygen content in compartment will remain at the level that is comfortable for human body so as to help passengers overcome altitude stress.
This train is equipped with heavy shock absorbent so as to minimize vibration.
Train is designed to protect against natural disaster, i.e. thunder lightling and high-wind.
The engine is designed to reach a maximum of 160 Km per hour,
to run at high-altitude, severe low oxygen level and extreme cold temperature.
This driver has been operating Tibet/Beijing train line for over one year.
Every staff member is able to communicate in Tibetan, Chinese and English.
A team of very experienced staff is selected to operate this train line.
Periodical health examination to ensure physical fitness of every staff member.
Every staff member is trained and passed examination of Tibetan custom and manner.
Disabled persons will find comfort in this train (wheelchairs accessible).
For well-planned environmental-friendly consideration,
all liquid waste is collected and pumped out through this pipe outlet.
At train stations, a specially designed and built disposal truck
will arrive to collect both solid and liquid waste in order to dispose
them individually in an environmental-friendly manner,
so as to protect the environment of Tibet in the best possible way.
Nothing is allowed to be disposed along the railway line.

For your convenience, your hostess information is displayed on the hall way.
The environmental control data of the train is displayed on the Hall way.

Window curtain, carpet and wallpaper all review respect of Tibetan culture and design.

This is the hall way leading to your compartment.
Please note that the carpet is Tibetan style.
On the right side you can see the door of your compartment.
There is a seat next to window on the hall way, in case you want to be alone.

data of temperature, train speed, Estimated Arrival time.

Your friendly hostess will escort you to your compartment,
which has 4 berths in a room, 2 bottoms and 2 uppers
(as you can see from this picture).
The door, when closed, will provide privacy to your room.
The windows are designed to protect you from harmful ultra-violet sunlight
Your compartment window can be an Emergency Exit

In your room OXYGEN SUPPLY is provided free-of-charge.
You can select your own preference of Music on your berth.
When in bed, you can select your own program on your own flat panel TV.

There is a bar, in case you want to have a drink alone or with friends.

On the wall it hangs a sign 'Bon ap petit' in both languages.

This is a display of breakfast, Chinese style.
The food on the train is good,
including Tibetan style, Chinese style and western style.
Washroom
Washroom is located around the corner from your room compartment.

This sign is displayed on the Hall way, showing you the direction.

This is the door to enter the men and ladies washroom.

Inside the washroom you will find very clean and sanitized facilities.
Your private toilet room
The instructions are displayed in three languages.
'PLEASE FLUSH' in English.

This is the soft-seat compartment.
