Basic Principles of QiGong.

The basic idea of Qi comes from the Chinese philosophy Taoism, which stated that the universe is composed of Yin and Yang ( bad and good, or black and white) and is constantly changing. Such principles comes from the roots of ancient China. They are best explained in the Nei Jing.

Yin and Yang is the Tao of the universe which is in constant change. After you have learned the principle of yin and yang, you will be like a child who is always with your parents being protected. This is because you will become perceptive of the causes as well as the truth. The changing of the four seasons is for the growing and restoring of living things. Wise people will adapt into the changes to protect themselves, and learn the way to keep good health. Ignorant people will act in diametrically opposite ways with the changes and harm themselves.

The yin and yang principle is the philosophy of prevention: the balancing of yin and yang in all aspects of your life to suit constant changes. Qi circulates in the human body according to the system of acupuncture meridians and thus will result into yin or yang status. QiGong ( the exercise of Qi ) was developed and enriched for more than two thousand years by monks and doctors as well as by Taoists and Buddhists.

QiGong is a gentle therapeutic exercise, both curative and preventive, based on the ancient system of acupuncture meridians. This “gymnastic of the medians?comprises both static and dynamic physical exercises, technique for breath control and mental concentration, self-administered massage and acupuncture on acupuncture points, and therapeutic sounds causing vibrations that stimulate different internal organs. The purpose of these exercises is to prevent or dissolve blockages of energy, stimulate the circulation, and correct imbalances. The result is increased psychic and physical well-being and a marked strengthening of immune defenses. With focused practice, any disturbance can be prevented or cured.

General Concepts of QiGong training

QiQong training is very much like growing a tree. In order for the QiGong tree to grow well and give an abundant harvest, you much plant a healthy seed. This means you must first do some research about the different kinds of trees so that you will know how to pick a seed which will grow into the kind of tree you want. Our QiGong Study Tour will spread out all the seeds in front of you so that you could understand the background of the various QiGong training categories. Next you must learn how to plant the seed, water it, protect it, and make it grow. If you nourish and protect it, the root of the plant will grow strong and you can expect a good harvest. If the root is weak, your QiGong tree wil wither and die.

The purpose of our QiGong Study Tour is to show you how to plant the seed, nourish it and protect it. You should understand that it does not matter which type of tree you are growing, the general theory and methods for making the tree grow healthy remain the same. You always need sunshine, water, good soil, fertilizer and protection from insects and you always need to know where and when to plant your seed.

There are five factors which you must know in order to make your QiGong tree grow well. These are :

Regulating the body( Tiao Shen)

Regulating the breathing ( Tiao Xi)

Regulating the mind ( Tiao Xin)

Regulating the Qi ( Tiao Qi)

Regulating the Shen ( Tiao Shen )

You also need to know how they are interrelated. These are the foundation of successful QiGong practice. Without this foundation, your understanding of QiGong and your practice will remain superficial.

The Three Treasures --- Jing, Qi and Shen

To clearly understand Jing( Essence ), Qi ( internal energy ) and Shen ( spirit ) is one of the most essential requirements for effective QiGong training. They are the foundamental materials of your life and therefore also th root of QiGong practice. Jing, Qi and Shen are call "San Bao " which means "The Three Treasures ".

In QiGong training, a practitioner learns how to "firm his/her Jing "(Gu Jing, Gu means to firm, solidify, retain and conserve ) and how to convert it into Qi. This is called "Lian Jing Hua Qi ", which means "to refine the Jing and convert it into Qi ". Then he/she learns how to lead the Qi to the head to convert it into Shen ( also called nourishing Shen). This is called "Lian Qi Hua Shen ", which means " to refine the Qi and convert it into (nourish ) the Shen ". Finally, the practitioner learns to use his/her energized Shen to govern the emotional part of his/her personality. This is called "Lian Shen Liao Xing ", or " to refine the Shen to end human ( emotional ) nature.".

The above mentioned conversion processes are what enable you to gain health and longevity. As a QiGong practitioner, you must concentrate to learn these three elements during the course of QiGong training. If you can take good care of these three elements, you will live a long and healthy life. If you neglect or abuse them, you will be sick very often and will age fast. Each of these three elements or treasures has its own nature. You must learn how to strengthen and protect your own three treasures.

This gives you an idea of the HOW in QiGong training. However, knowing HOW is not enough. It only offers you the theory and principles of training which have been developed by previous QiGong practitioners. Following the past may lead you to great success in your QiGong training, but it will not help you to develop QiGong training any further. For this you must not only know HOW, you must also know WHY. A farmer may know HOW of growing apple trees well, but only someone who understand WHY of it all will be able to improve the growing techniques or develop new variety of apples. It is the same in QiGong training - you want to be a QiGong botanist instead of just a QiGong farmer. WHY and HOW are the roots of understanding. They are the theory and principle of study.

Having an understanding of the WHY of the training is especially important when you are just beginning. It lets you make an informed choice of a style which is best for you, and since you have a clear idea of where you are going, you can be confident, patient and strong willed enough to complete the training.

Our QiGong Study Tour provides you with HOW and WHY. Further, we share our experience with you.

No matter which levels of QiGong practitioner you are, our QiGong professionals will help to improve your status.

We will answer all your questions and show you how to correct the mistakes.

We will show the way to go in the future.

Come! Join us to let yourself into a new world, a new beginning of better health in both physical and mental conditions.
