In 1703 Qing Dynasty Emperor Kan Xi initiated the
building of this world-largest imperial resort, which
occupied 5.6 million square meters. Emperors of the Qing
Dynasty spent almost half of each year at the mountain manor
where they lived, went hunting, handled court affairs and
received envoys from other countries. We'll hike within this
manor. | |

The numerous ancient buildings represent both the
northern and southern schools of ancient Chinese
architecture and merge with the architectural style of
China's ethnic groups. |
